Stop Corporal Punishment

Across Europe, corporal punishment is one of the most common forms of child rights violations: national laws in thirteen out of the twenty seven EU member states do not protect children from assault in the home. Prohibiting and eliminating all corporal punishment is a human rights imperative under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and other international and regional human rights instruments. Prohibition by 2009 was recommended by the UN Secretary-General’s Study on Violence against Children.

EURONET opposes all forms of corporal punishment against children within the European Union (EU), including in the home. Join EURONET in helping to make the ban on corporal punishment a reality by learning more about the campaign and signing up to our statement of support
